What are you doing to combat today’s tough economy? Anything? Are you planning for a bright future? Or, just hoping this will all get better soon?

“With the recent downgrades to our Nation’s economy and to our own industry, it is very important for me to make you aware of the business opportunities available to you in these times of uncertainty.”
- Brian Cree/Cheif Executive Officer

Although most of you already know, Southwest Displays & Events is a Dallas, Texas-based, national tradeshow exhibit company in our twenty-second year of business. Independent ownership is from the sales side of business, not accounting or venture capital. We want to aggressively pursue growth and are committed to further expansion of our National presence.

Over the last year, in a very difficult market, we achieved a healthy cash position. Now, more than ever, our committment to aggresive growth is unwavering. Because of this, I want to reach out and share with some of you qualified individuals my ideas for your possible future growth and financial well-being.

First, for the Account Executive… Are you a high-dollar salesperson with little or no possibility of ownership? Do you ever want to be an owner? Do you have the drive to bring your current business into an organization and be remunerated with more than just commission? These are serious questions regarding you and your family’s future. Who better to talk to than an existing owner who has been in your sales shoes and, actually did something about it.

To the Business Owner… Are you not exactly sure what may or may not happen to your company, but you know you do not want to sell your business? Would an injection of new sales and business strategies be worth you selling a portion of what you’ve built? Perhaps you are ready to sell, but are not sure how to go about it? There are many ways to divest yourself of liabilities while we increase your personal assets. I would be honored to discuss those with you.

If you have this real desire to personally and financially grow in the next several years, you should consider working with an independent company with an intense desire to stay aggressive in these climates. Regional sales offices are one strategy to immediately discuss. Please contact me directly with your thoughts and/or your personal goals. I am very interested in what you have to say. (You will see the “Life Change” icon on our website)

Over the past several months, I have witnessed business after business, person after person; watching, waiting and wondering what will happen. Is that you? Or would a conversation on your personal business theories be that first step toward you becoming open to a life change of possible incredible significance and wealth? Serious future partners need only to respond.

It starts with you. Contact me. Confidentially and non-disclosure agreements will be required.

Kindest Regards,

Brian Cree/Cheif Executive Officer

A privately owned company, we operate one centrally located facility in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas. Our single strategic location leaves us better able to manage our overhead and allows us to pass our savings along to our customers. For example, you’ll find our storage rates comparable to the national average in 2004.

What Exactly IS a Marshalling Yard?

Each major tradeshow uses a general contractor to manage their show. Each general contractor uses a marshalling yard to coordinate the trucks making deliveries to and pick ups from their tradeshows. Without specialized transportation, the knowledge of what a marshalling yard is, where the correct marshalling yard for the venue/event in question is located, how early they open for check-in, if there’s a scale fee the driver will have to pay and many other variables, your delivery or pick up may be late.

Let our carriers handle the Marshalling Yard process for you.

“Be Resourceful” Richard Slack – President
In today’s economy, companies are tasked with cutting costs while maintaining shrinking profit margins. Unfortunately, a key solution to this problem is by reducing staff. More tasks are becoming the inherited responsibility of workers that lack training, knowledge and resources to efficiently perform the work clogging their inbox. How do you complete your never-ending “to-do” list?

You need a trusted resource, your Southwest Displays & Events Account Executive. Who knows your property better than you’re A.E.? We have clients that send us their show schedule for the year and we do the rest. We suggest properties to use along with CAD layouts for approval. How would you like to know you have nothing to worry about, that your needs are being met, and your event will be a success. Be resourceful, use you’re Account Executive.

“The Banner Stands Achilles Heel” Kevin Beck – Director of Digital Imaging
Banner stands are basically a hyped up version of your Grandmother’s roll-up blinds, just reversed.

If you look at the ends of your banner stand, you will notice a small rectangular “tab” sticking out of one end. This “tab” is what keeps your graphic retracting. What happens is this. You have taken down your display, graphic neatly rolled up inside, soft shipping bag in hand, and you slip the end into the bag and drop it in. Innocent enough. When your banner stand came to that abrupt stop on the floor, you drove that tab into the banner stand and released the tension of the spring inside. Now, at your next event, your graphic suddenly will not retract. The tab is probably still in place and looks normal, but what has happened inside can only be repaired with the proper tools and patience. Most are repairable.

When purchasing banner stands, look for designs that have the ends protected. Spending a little more now will save you costly repairs and frustration in the future.
